Playacar is south of the ferry dock and is Playa del Carmen's area for ritzy condos, hotels and all-inclusive resorts. The area also includes some Mayan ruins and the Xaman-Ha aviary.

Playa del Carmencar is a gated beach-front community boasting houses and condos and a beautiful view of the Caribbean. The tropical lifestyle also offers an 18-hole golf course, a variety of watersports and some tennis courts.
